Intro – Vision Series

By Chris Hankins || Posted September 25, 2018

I am confident of the necessity of a “God sized” vision for your church.

Are you one of the 98% of pastors or planters who lack a clear vision for the future of your church?  You do not have to be!

A God sized vision will increase your faith and give your church a road map to Kingdom impact.

A God sized vision serves as destination coordinates on your church’s journey to help everyone stay together and arrive at the same place.

Picture your church as a caravan of cars going on a journey together.  How long would you be able to hold that group of cars together if everyone has a different destination address plugged into their GPS?  I believe that is why Solomon wrote:

“Where there is no vision, the people perish.”
Proverbs 29:18

This is the introduction to a seven-part vision series that I pray will take you and your church on a journey from embracing the need for a “God Sized Vision,” all the way to writing it down and implementing it!

Part 1 – Necessity of a God Sized Vision
Part 2 – Benefits of God Sized Vision
Part 3 – Characteristics of God Sized Visions
Part 4 – Discovering your God Sized Vision
Part 5 – God Sized Vision Formula
Part 6 – Implementing your God Sized Vision
Part 7 – Objections to God Sized Visions

If I could go back and start our church again, knowing what I know now, there are many things I would do differently.  However, taking the time to discover God’s vision for our church would not be one of them!

I am convinced that one of the reasons we have seen such rapid growth at The Point Church is because we have had a clear vision of what we believed God wanted us to do from our very first service. Our church’s vision has propelled us to attempt things we would have never dreamed of doing —  such as planting nine Point Churches in the Triangle in our first seven years of existence. The vision God gave us for our church has made up for many of our early mistakes.

I believe a God sized vision will do the same for your church too.
